Address workers' grievances

It's in reference to the letter ' Garment sector' by Nur Jahan, Chittagong .

In the letter she writes, "We do not think the workers have done it, they will never destroy the factories from which they earn their bread and also know very well that thousands of them will become jobless. So it is quite obvious that there is foul play, a very sinister one."

Not so long ago when militants were committing crimes in the garb of religion, we heard of conspiracy by those who wanted to portray Bangladesh as a fundamentalist state. But now nobody can deny their presence in the country. She further writes, "Our heartfelt sympathy for the owners of those factories, which have been destroyed. It is an unbearable blow."

But, unfortunately, she has not shown any sympathy for the workers who are being exploited in every possible way.

I would request her to look beyond the concerns of the owners alone.
