AIDS: a looming menace

Bangladesh, geographically, is not out of the danger of an AIDS epidemic, as her contiguous countries have thousands of HIV positive people.

The UNAIDS reveals that India has 3700,000 HIV positive people, Myanmar 530,000, Thailand 755,000, Pakistan 75,000, Nepal 34,000 and Sri Lanka has 7,500. According to the government of Bangladesh , there are only 188 HIV positive people in the country, but the UNAIDS report says the number is 13,000, and according to WHO it is 21,000.

So we should remain prepared to face the menace.
