Appalling scene

I was not only perplexed but also shocked at the picture of our Honourable Prime Minister beside the cadaver of Juba Dal leader Sagir Ahmed in a news report published in The Daily Star on June 26. Sagir was assassinated by hoodlums. He might have been a petty party activist but certainly he was a notorious terrorist who patronised hooliganism and terrorism in his locality. And his homicide is the consequence of intra-party conflicts. We came to know that most of the BNP stalwarts assembled at their party head office to mourn the death of Sagir. But the visit of the PM surprised all of us.

It was noting but recognition of notoriety. Sagir was a murderous criminal and he was accused in many criminal cases.

Such things discourage the young generation to think about national politics.
