An appeal
In the wake of the present political upheaval in the country, I would appeal very earnestly to both the opposition and ruling alliance to ruminate and give a serious thought to resolve the present crisis, which is pushing the country to the point of no return.
I am not a political activist. I simply know that frequent and consecutive hartal calls will not do any good to the people or the country. Productivity and the flow of foreign investment will suffer. Economy of the country will be seriously affected.
If it is assumed, for the sake of argument, that the opposition succeeds in ousting the government, but what next? Is there any guarantee that with the change of regime every thing will be all right? Certainly the new opposition party will resort to the same trickery and create the same state of affairs for the ruling party. This process will continue.
