An appeal to Minister for Communication
It is very sad to note here that, due to callousness of the railway authority the Sylhet -Dhaka train services has become worse since after his assurance for developing the said train line and till today there has been no action taken for adjusting the train fare to that of Dhaka-Chittagong.
May we therefore request the honourable minister on behalf of the Sylhet bound passengers, that, we shall be grateful if he would kindly take immediate steps to develop the train services from Dhaka-Sylhet by reducing the train fare adjusting with that of Dhaka-Chittagong train fare as he promised last year.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Otherwise we shall have no option but to avail the substitute and thus the traditional train service would have to face serious setback.
You know that Paraboth and Joyontika are the only two trains running to and from Dhaka-Sylhet, but probably you don't know the present crucial stage of those two trains, which have no time table and no specific stoppages as there are passengers who in connivance with some security personnel are said to be engaged in carrying smuggled goods and thus the trains cannot maintain any time table .
