Attack on Ahmadiyyas
The attack on an Ahmadiyya Masjid and the community as a whole is deplorable and should be condemned in the strongest language. It is even more shameful that ruling party cadres were reportedly involved in such a heinous crime. As citizens of our country, the Ahmadiyyas have the equal right to protection under the law. Therefore, the participation of the local Muslims in the destruction of property and harassment of the members of the Ahmadiyya community not only violates the tenets of Islam, but has also added a shameful chapter to our nation's history.
The government must take the culprits to task and recompense the victims for loss of property, pain and suffering.
