The Bangla New Year starts with the month of Baishakh . People celebrate Pahela Baishakh in a mood of reviving our own culture and values. On this occasion,Baishakhi Melais arranged around the city and many cultural programmes take place throughout the day. People visit the mela and welcome the New Year.

It is an annual festival in Bangladesh. Men, women and children eagerly wait for this day. It breaks the monotony of our life and reminds us of our cultural identity.
