BBC going west

As a lifelong listener (and later, as a viewer) of BBC news for several decades, I am feeling disenchanted with the news presentation (and the biased views); specially after the 9/11 bombing. Now Blair and Bush are trying to act together, and BBC, while not taking side, is trying to be helpful, in a polite way. It is not polite to many other cultures. The "C" in the ICT is distorted. Propaganda very much exists, even outside the BBC, openly, or in disguise. The global IT networks are controlled by the developed nations. Pre-emptive news! That is the current fashion.

As an Asian, I feel more isolated about the global coverage offered. Little news is generated on Asia, and in the third world, except those of interest to Western imperialist aims and objectives.

May be BBC is feeling the invisible well. Where are the eastern eyes?

A few minutes ago I switched off the BBC radio news after five minutes. The pattern puts me off. We come in only when man bites dog. We cannot be normal! The terrorists are supposed to be mostly Muslims, and there is something wrong with the Muslim-majority nations. Those familiar with the growth of the British Empire can detect that the BBC does not like the current environment, as reporters and interpreters. BBC was recently in the news with top reshuffling. Good. Let us have more of it.

The decline of the West (industrialised nations) is not a debatable issue. It is the shifting of the "sine wave of history"; the movement is now from the West to the East. May be the next century belongs to Africa.

No more tryst with the BBC. Sad.
