In recent weeks, it has been noticed that a Bangladeshi newsreader of the now-defunct ETV, is casting news in BBC Bangla service from Dhaka. I wonder, whether the BBC's Bangla Service has decided to outsource its news bulletin for economic reasons like other western companies? Is it the result of BBC's cost-cutting plan , under which thousands of journalists are likely to lose their jobs?
I am keen to know what our government thinks about it. If a foreign broadcaster is allowed to broadcast news from Dhaka, why doesn't the government allow local entrepreneurs to launch their own radio stations?
