The biggest ammo haul
A bamboozling show of illegal lethal arms recovered recently from the Chittagong coastal area has once again divulged the vulnerability of our national security and the irresponsibility of the law enforcement agencies. Th big ammo haul comparable to the arms stored in a mini cantonment has not been the first one. A few months back, an almost similar quantity of fatal weapons with ammunition were seized, but the spectres behind this maritime arm smuggling are yet to be ferreted out. If they came under the purview of the law, the same thing would not have happened again and again. This disquieting incident is a clear threat to our national security and its repeated occurrence shows that the smugglers are outwitting the security forces, or are they deliberately facilitating themodus operandiof smugglers in exchange of a hefty amount of money?
As the whole nation is bewildered, the two major political parties are recklessly passing sarcastic comments against each other. Even our state minister for home affairs has not ruled out the possibility of the opposition's direct involvement in this arms deal. Has this country become a transit for arms consignments?
The nation wants an answer to this question.
