Rajshahi City is the divisional head quarter of Rajshahi Division. The population of the city is approximately 600,000. There is an airport in Rajshahi city. Unfortunately the high government officials, head of the financial institutions, leading businessmen, diplomats, head of donor agencies, high academics and physicians are nowadays avoiding Rajshahi as Bangladesh Biman is operating only one flight to Rajsahi in the afternoon. Secondly this flight is operated via Saidpur airport.

For the development of Rajshahi city and the Rajshahi Division the VIPs need to visit Rajshahi and the Northwestern part of the country. These VIPs who can really contribute to the development of this neglected area of the country nowadays avoid visiting Rajshahi and the other districts of the Rajshahi Division as they can not return to Dhaka in the evening.

As a university teacher I have been observing that the senior professors of Dhaka University and Dhaka Medical College are nowadays avoiding Rajshahi for question moderation and viva examinations.

I request the Bangladesh Biman kindly to introduce two flights everyday to Dhaka-Rajsahi-Saidpur route. One in the morning and one in the afternoon or evening so that such VIPs are motivated to travel to this neglected region of the country.
