Bombs thrown at Akhaura
The bomb explosion at Hazrat Shah Syed Ahammed shrine when worshippers were in attendance is another sign of social instability in Bangladesh. The fact that after the bomb explosion of last May a person could walk in and cause the injury of one person and injury of many others should be a warning for better security. This may be an act of terrorism or simply an isolated attack by a mad man. But what is worrying is that people's lives were at stake and our police were not able to stop it as they were in no way prepared to do it.
I hope the government puts greater effort into securing religious and public venues against such explosions that result in the death of innocent civilians.
