Camel jockeys in UAE

I was horrified and sickened to read a letter from Rafiqul Islam (14/09/05) about the abuse our baby boys endured in the UAE. Apparently "the cry of the minor boys aged 4-6 makes the camel run faster"!

It is high time that our Prime Minister Begum Zia demanded a formal apology from the UAE for their ill and immoral treatment of these Bangladeshi boys while they were in their country.

The UAE authorities clearly owed them a duty of care. They were totally and utterly negligent. They failed miserably and let these minors down shamefully.

She should also ask for appropriate compensation for these young boys so that they can rebuild their life, or what's left of it. The Arabs' shameful disrespect and abuse of women and young boys/girls should be highlighted to the world at large. Begum Zia now has an opportunity to do just that and demand justice for our children who were grossly abused in a foreign land. It's her duty.
