Can't we mind our own business
Mr. Kerry was a very good candidate but he did not have that extra guts Mr. Bush has, and the voters wanted their President to be courageous. It is also true that voting for Mr. Bush does not mean that the voters support the ongoing war in Iraq. I live in Texas and here almost everybody voted for Mr. Bush but of them very few think, going after Iraq was a right decision by Mr. Bush. Security, by far, topped the agenda during the campaign and Mr. Bush was very precise about his views in this issue. As a result, the citizens of America made him the President.
It is we, the Bangladeshis, who always vote without thinking. We select war criminals of 1971 as lawmakers. We chose terrorists of so called "Bahinis" as lawmakers. When we cannot properly chose our leaders, we have no right to comment on other people's choice. It would have made no difference if Mr. Kerry became the President. From a Bangladeshi point of view, I think we should be more concerned about our own politics, so that we choose the right person to lead us. The people of Bangladesh are very interested in politics but do we show sense while executing our voting rights, remains the question. The critics in our country who are worried about the US election, please write about the wrong doings going on in Dhaka rather than writing about what went wrong in Ohio. Nothing went wrong in Ohio, the people of America executed their voting rights and they chose Mr. Bush as their President, we can't help it!
