Caught in traffic jam
I am writing this letter to draw attention to the horrendous traffic jams we commuters have to put up with everyday. To say that commuting has become a strenuous and severe task would be an understatement. Consider the following cases: the fire brigade is rushing to put out a tremendous fire in a garments factory, when it gets caught in the 45-minute long jam near the PMO's office. What next? What of the people trapped and dying inside the factory? Or what if an ambulance, carrying a person literally fighting with death, is caught in the traffic snarl near Basundhara Shopping Mall? The patient will undoubtedly die if the ambulance is not released first.
It is said that Bangalis are very resilient. I find that very true. We are putting up with these nerve-breaking jams each and every day, yet everyone remains silent. I notice the public is very interested with trivial issues such as the PM's and opposition leader's mud slinging but nobody cares about traffic jams. Is everyone so accustomed to this curse, which we have to bear upon our shoulders? Does nobody care about finding a solution?
