The Oxford English Dictionary defines these two words like this.

booty (1) valuable stolen goods. booty (2) Plural (booties) North American informal a person's bottom. What a big difference in meaning? So it's clear booty (1) is plural in itself. The point of sending this to you is because recently I read a letter published in your paper using booties (1) as plural to mean valuable stolen goods.
