Deaths in the Mediterranean
We are extremely shocked and dismayed at the news of the deaths of the ill fated Bangladeshis inside a boat in the Mediterranean. This tragic news has once again revealed how the innocent people of our country seeking job abroad, become easy prey to some unscrupulous and avaricious traders. We do share the excruciating pain and grief of the bereaved families but it does not mitigate their pangs. Much verbiage was spent before to combat this sort of loathsome crimes, but nothing praiseworthy has been achieved till today.
So, we ardently urge the law enforcing agencies to adopt stringent measures to inflict exemplary punishment on those involved in trading on human misery.
