Once Dhaka University was called the "Oxford of the East" because of its educational standards, positive role in progressive movements, appropriate curricular activities, and so on. Nowadays, the glorious past is reflected only in various books, magazines and newspapers. It is now a place for dirty politics and violence.
That is indeed sad.
