Discount on books
A discount show on sale of books was held in the compound of Public Library recently (3-13 July, 2004). I chose to purchase some books from the discount stall of a well known publishing house. But I am sorry to mention that the publishing house could not keep its commitment about its discount facility. They had published an 'Ad' in the newspapers that discount would be from 40% to 80% on all books, both local and foreign.
But, in fact, they were giving 35% discount only on their newly published Bengali and English books.
I think book publishing is an honest business, which has a tremendous impact on life and society of a nation. So it should not be marred by any discrepancies.
