It was indeed sad to see a picture on May 16, in DS, of our former President Badruddoza Chowdhury, standing behind Sheikh Hasina on the dais of a Paltan Maidan rally organised in memory of slain AL lawmaker Ahsanullah Master. Wherever he may be, a person who held the highest position in a country, should present himself in a dignified manner, especially in a public forum.

The politics of vengeance may suit any ordinary politician, but not certainly a personality of his stature. Mr. Badruddoza would do a service to this nation, if he learns from the lives of former Indian presidents. He will find that their conduct was always dignified, most appropriate and statesmanlike.
