Dr. Mahathir and OIC
I heartily and fully agree with Mr. RD Qureshi that OIC members should persuade Dr. Mahathir to take the position of the secretary general of the OIC. This will certainly rejuvenate the Muslim world and the outside world will start treating it with respect .
The OIC has totally failed to stand up to the expectations of the Muslim Ummah . Its activities are limited to formal , almost useless, meetings and there is no proof of the organisation having played any constructive role. The reason behind the failure of the OIC could be the lack of proper leadership and well defined objectives . In an International organisation like it , the secretary general plays the pivotal role. But the OIC never had a person as its secretary general having any international standing .
