Ebb tide in DU

Article17 of the Constitution of Bangladesh is earmarked for education. Pragmatically, higher education is a privilege, not a basic right. If I consider Dhaka University as the highest seat of learning in Bangladesh, it is not hyperbolic at all. But if we think about the output, we have to conceal many things.

Dhaka University's infrastructure is scanty, but it has a plethora of students. Our dormitories are not better than a ghetto. We need to battle to accommodate ourselves in our class. Cultural activities have been marginalised . It is not clear to me why the university takes 4000 students per year. Why 150-250 students in every department? Is the DU going to be commercialised? It cannot arrange seminars and publish journals regularly. Maximum teachers are busy with private universities and lecture on their new experience in our class. The authorities should think up something new to bring back life to the DU.
