Education for the poor

This surprising academic study shows that the some of poorest parents in the world are choosing private education for their children, reversing the image of privilege and bringing decision-making back to the people: it refers to examples in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, India and China but is relevant to all regions. It is 900 words long.

The UN Summit of 14-16 September is reviewing the (failing) Millennium Development Goals, including the commitment to provide free primary education for all.
