While reading the 8 November issue of Prothom Alo on line, one news item about Eid Shopping immediately drew my attention. It has been mentioned that a woman dress called "Lahanga" was sold at Tk. 300,000 and sarees are being sold at prices up to Tk.200,000 .

This is unthinkable to me. Could Bangladesh people afford to buy these costly dresses to celebrate Eid? To celebrate Eid do we not need to wear expensive dresses. Rather, the money could be used to help the monga-hit people in the northern region .
