Freedom fighters' quota
I refer to the letter ''Freedom fighters quota ''by M. M. Emrul Kayas published on 25 July. In that letter he made some points in favour of the quota in government jobs for the family members of the freedom fighters.
Although I respect his views, I cannot quite agree with him. In his opinion, we are paying back to freedom fighters by reserving jobs for their family members. There is no doubt everybody respects freedom fighters because they liberated our country. However, I think, we don't need to deprive other people to pay them back.
On the contrary, there are many ways to do something for the freedom fighters; for example, the government can give them a decent monthly allowance. But reserving 30% jobs for their family members is ruining the general students' chance of getting a job.
