General Aurora
General Jagjit Singh Aurora passed away, leaving behind a distinguished career. Among one of his biggest achievements, and the most relevant to us - Bangladeshis, was the 13 day victory in the 1971 India Pakistan war that led to the birth of our own country. The prologue to the victory was not easy, but the help we got from the Indian armed forces in equipping and training the Mukti Bahini, and the quick and relatively eventless showdown on 16
December was definitely the credit of Aurora's forces. I pray to the Almighty to bless his departed soul and hope the government commemorates this war hero's contributions to our homeland with due solemnity.
