A good article
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Anwarul Kabir, Assistant Professor of AIUB, for his brilliant article entitled "Fundamentalism, extremism and Islam" published in your newspaper of 7 July. Especially, I endorse his reference to Sharia laws in defining Islamic fundamentalism and extremism. Like Prof. Kabir I also think that it must be modernised with a view to resolving various problems of Muslim societies.
So, Islamic scholars should come forward to amend the laws where necessary for the better progress of the Muslim society as a whole in this competitive world.
