Hamas and world at large

Hamas and some other groups are branded 'terrorist' because they have taken up arms to free their land from whom they consider forcible occupiers. If we go further back, Israel did not get their land peacefully when they also struggled with clandestine bloody attacks on English and Arabs, often civilians. In our own case in 1971 Radio Pakistan and local cohorts used to brand our freedom fighters as 'miscreants'.

Western governments are ready to punish the Palestinians by stopping financial assistance. Even a humanitarian and welfare oriented country like Canada has made their announcement. Non-partisan and freedom-loving states should retaliate by making contribution to Palestine. Oil-exporting countries may impose a levy of a few cents per barrel for compensating the Palestinian people. I am sure President Chavez of Venezuela will join in this effort and may even take the lead if properly approached. Who can forget his magnanimity to help poor New Englanders freezing in cold by providing cheap oil?
