Health insurance for all

Despite rapid economic growth, many people still cannot afford the ever-increasing medical treatment in our country. Every day people die because of a lack of proper treatment. Therefore, it is high time for the government to introduce health insurance for all.

The government collects Tk 660 billion per year through indirect taxation. If 2 percent extra “health insurance surcharge” is collected, the amount would come to nearly Tk 88 billion, which can be paid as insurance premium for all citizens.
