Many of us have seen the film of Satyajit Ray, `Hirok Rajar deshe'. In that film, the king of the Hirok country invited many kings and high officials from other countries. The objective was to show the statue of Raja Hirok which was made of diamond. But the important thing was that when the king invited them he had done some terrible things which are very significant still now. There the king at first located the areas of the poor people, destroyed them and took the people to a different place where they would not be seen by the guests. Also the king demolished the only school in the country because he didn't want his people to be educated. Now we have passed the period of feudalism and have parliamentary democracy, but certain basic things are yet to change. The recent Saarc Summit reminded me of the great film made by Ray.
