HIV/AIDS and poverty
HIV/AIDS and poverty are closely related to each other. The number of poverty stricken people are increasing in South Africa, Uganda, etc. If the head of the house is infected, his dexterity comes down day by day and ultimately turns incapacitated. In Uganda, there are many families with no active working personnel.
In Bangladesh, I know about one head of the family who has become incapacitated. They have two children. The man is in terminal stage of HIV infection. Now he remains continuously ill and for that he lost his job. His wife earns a little bit of money. With this meagre amount of money she maintains the family. It is a matter of great concern that his wife may also be bed ridden any time.
Another issue is that in our country people are not aware of the extent of the hazard.
