If Bangladesh is renamed as " Islamic Republic of Bangladesh," it will make no difference to me, as my opposition to the move will be just a futile exercise for me.
I recall a proposal by Mr. Monem Khan (governor of East Pakistan) urging Prof Abdul Hai to compose Rabindra Sangeet and in reply Prof Hai commented that "It would be Hai Sangeet."
I also recall our Dhaka city code in the Iata record (International Air Transport Association), which is still maintained as "Dac" (from Dacca). The same case I believe is with Calcutta, Bombay, Madras etc.
