Ignorant people!
It seems that about every evil act of their government, the American people are always ignorant. I refer to Peter Blood's statement that the Nixon administration did not represent the views of the American people, who did not know what their own government was up to.
Democrats trot out this line to make the people look good - and so to defend democracy (all good comes from the people, all evil from their representatives). But they end up making the people look like a bunch of retards or very evil. If the people never know what jiggery-pokery their governments get up to, then they are intellectually challenged.
If they do know, then they are morally challenged.
