Impose ban on costly dress

A day after the Eid, I was listening to a musical programme on Radio Metrowave where I heard the presenter talk about her personal opinion during a live telephone conversation with Progya Labonee, a celebrity. The presenter said that she wanted the government to impose a ban on production, display and sale of costly Eid dresses (Lahenga as she referred them to) and asked for making a law to punish both the seller and buyer of such costly dresses.

I agree with her because such costly dresses are not only an extravagance but widens the gap between rich and poor. I strongly feel that the proposal is quite justified which the authorities should take into consideration.

At the same time I would request the government to fix a limit on price of sacrificial animals in the cattle market during the time of Eid-ul-Azha.
