Intoxicated Bangladesh
Bangladeshi farmers use about 20000 tons of pesticide. And most horrible thing is that they even use these toxic pest killers in the day of there harvesting . We purchase these cereals, vegetables and fruits but there is no way to know whether pesticide was used. Moreover, consumers who purchase these green-goods are not aware of the poisonous effect of the chemicals used. Recently, it was reported that even the fish sellers sell intoxicated fish of "lagoon". They even dare to bring the preserved fish with formalin. Fruit sellers also use different kinds of toxic chemicals and our future generation would be the first affected group of these chemically ripen fruits.
Among all these alarming news I appreciate those people who are playing there role against the poisonous pesticides. Nature friendly "Pheromone Trap" will not only ensure our good health but it will also save a huge amount of money every year. Now is the time to convey the message of this movement to all farmers. Our government has to help these farmers after the experiment period by providing the pheromone chemical when it won't be available. I also propose to governments' think tank to draw up strict laws to prevent harvesting of chemically ripen foods and preserved fish. Here, media must do its job by creating awareness among the people. Because, we want our future generation to grow up in a toxic-free Bangladesh.
