Is it the voice of BNP?

Some days ago Communications Minister Barrister Nazmul Huda delivered a speech in a programme of the Islami Chhatra Shibir. He said, "They committed no offence by wanting an undivided Pakistan."

The whole nation knows about the Jaamat-e- Islami, the mentors of Shibir activists. They are anti-liberation and acted on the basis of that premise in 1971. And for that reason they killed a number of our great freedom fighters; they killed a number of intellectuals on the eve of victory and they raped a number of women and teenage girls. Were not these crimes? As a lawmaker and a prominent lawyer, the minister should not have said anything in favour of the enemies of this country.

Jamaat-e-Islami's founder Maulana Moududi worked as an agent of the British rulers, when the anti-British movement gained momentum in the Indian subcontinent.

Obviously, the party that he founded is not expected to play any positive role in independent Bangladesh.
