Awami League General secretary Md. Abdul Jalil seems to be an asset to the party, he is also the co-ordinator of 14-party opposition alliance. From time to time he reveals his merits, like setting a deadline for the fall of the government, each time declaring he has got a trump card. Now he has focused all his attention to foiling the dialogue. He sent a letter on May 8, 2006 to BNP Secretary General Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, saying there cannot be any discussion with war criminals and patrons of militants, whose names were included in the list of four party alliance for the proposed meeting.

But we can easily predict that if the government keeps Jamaat out of the discussion, Mr. Abdul Jalil will find another excuse to foil it, as he is an expert in producing and reproducing trump cards.
