Killing is no solution

'al-Qaeda calls for killing Americans' was the title of a news item (April 9 DS). What will the lives of Americans bring to the Muslims? True, most of the Americans supported and still support the war on Iraq and Afghanistan. All over the world Muslims are oppressed. It will not be an exaggeration to say that Muslims are becoming the target of a elaborate cleansing operation. But who are to blame for this? The Muslims themselves. They were supposed to live as one body, if a part gets hurt, the whole body would experience it and respond accordingly. Today Muslims are the ones who are acting against their own brothers. If they were united, America would not have got the chance to intrude to 'resolve' Arab affairs?

America provided support to the young Saddam and his party. Ironically, the present US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had the assignment of aiding Saddam. All religions preach the eternal message of peace and harmony. Killing of human beings, be it Americans, Jews or Muslims, is forbidden by all religions, including Islam. I fail to understand how can some 'Islamist elements' urge to kill people in the name of the religion that itself means peace.

Muslims themselves made up this mess, so the onus is on them to get rid of it rather than responding to such rhetoric.
