Law against adulteration
While it's commendable that the government is passing laws against smoking, reckless driving, etc., we're left wondering about what it would take to stop adulteration/deception in food items to save our future generation.
In line with the DS Editorial of 31-Mar: "In scary abandon/Who bothers what we eat?" and the DS 01-April front-page headline: "A thriving market in dead fowl", the attention of the government should go for strict new laws against such unhealthy practices as use of chemicals for fruit-ripening/shining, use of formalin for preserving fish, mixing/putting of foreign matters/particles to increase weight/volume, sale of spoiled/sub-standard foods, etc. by unscrupulous traders/shop-owners.
