Law and order
Like many people of Bangladesh and being an ordinary citizen, I was also happy when the BNP and its allies came to power by virtue of the verdict of general masses in 2001. There is no doubt that people voted against the AL rule because of its failure to keep the law and order situation under control. Now, after about two years of BNP's rule (or misrule?) the law and order situation of the country has slid down to the lowest level, where no one is feeling secure. There is some success of the present government in the financial sector only because of its efficient finance minister but that success is also being eaten away by the insecure condition of the country. The law enforcers have miserably failed to ensure minimum security of people. Like the previous AL government, the present BNP government is also trying to hide the actual socio-economic conditions of the country and the people. They will be able to realise their mistake, only after being rejected by the people again .
The next big question is where the people will go now? Now it is very clear that neither of the two big parties (BNP/AL) are capable of doing something good for the people. The leaders are only interested in personal benefits and are indifferent to the cause of the general masses .
But things cannot remain like this forever. The sooner the political leaders realise their mistakes, the better for them and the country.
