Madrassah education
I am writing this letter with reference to the valued comments made by Prof. Anisuzzaman in a discussion organised by the Bangladesh Unnayan Parishad regarding the usefulness of madrassah education. We have suffered tremendously due to this kind of education. Not only advancement is hampered, the morality of the people has reached the lowest ebb. Madrassahs are producing bigots who grow like parasites in society. One duplicity I want to point out is that a large number of rich people set up madrassahs but their own children are not sent there. Generally, the poor are enrolled in these institutions. What a pity!
