The much awaited and widely advertised Bangla movie, Kokhono Megh Kokhono Bristy, was telecast on Channel I on Eid Day.

People were eagerly waiting for the movie as it was promoted to rebel against the vulgarism of our present Bangla cinema. Within the commercial framework, the film shows its uniqueness and points of attraction.

Film is a strong media of communication. It must have aesthetic value as well because its purpose is not 'art for art's sake' only. The pragmatic story, strong dialogue, genuine lucid sound tracks, mature performance of the artists -- all these together mark the movie as the turning point of our film culture. Once again it is proved that we really acclaim clean and good movies. To attract the audience, it's not at all necessary to infuse vulgarism, cheap dialogues or obscene dances. Actress-cum-director Moushumi has done a great job for all of us.

I congratulate her for her bold initiative and professionalism. Let this new but healthy trend of Bangla movie survive for long.
