However, the issue was catalysed by his senior's sense of duty and responsibility as expressed by him. It is still practised by many seniors in the medical profession who deliberately ignore the critical need for clinical training of budding doctors. His mentors are more at fault than him. One wonders if their conscience ever pricks?
Luckily however there are some senior medical practitioners who give their time and knowledge for free treatment of poor and needy patients. Dr. Ibrahim and his Diabetic Hospital are visible examples of this sense of devotion and single-minded commitment sadly lacking today. I wonder if budding doctors and medical students are given a briefing on his life and work to imbibe them towards service to humanity, which is the cornerstone of this noble profession.
I hope the self-confession volunteered by Dr. Zaman may help him to proceed forward towards service to humanity, particularly the poor and the needy.
