Noise pollution

When I write this letter to you, it is 1:00am on 16 December. At Neelkhet point a dozen loudspeakers with huge voices of dead and living leaders of two particular parties are on. Sometimes distorted recorded songs of our great liberation war are being played. The entire episode has turned into such a hell of sound that basically nothing can be heard. This is really unbelievable that some people can be so insensitive o the sanctity of such a great occasion.

My mother is a heart patient. She also has high pressure. You can imagine her condition. She is just cursing those people, though I am vainly trying to lessen her suffering by closing the windows. My three years old daughter screams out from her sleep time and again.

I request the authorities to ban loudspeakers during night time under any circumstances-- be it in the name of Victory Day, 31st Night, Independence Day, Pahela Baishakh or a Waz Mahfil.
