"Ohio has failed the world"
In his article, "Ohio has failed the world," (Nov 7) Mr. Zaied Ali makes a fundamental mistake. Ohio is no more responsible for Mr. Bush's victory (or John Kerry's defeat) than any of the other 30 states that Mr. Bush won in the November 2 US presidential elections. The fact that the contest in Ohio was very close and the winner could not be declared until the next day does not make the state solely responsible or "guilty" for Mr. Bush's victory. If "Ohio has failed the world," so have the other "red states" which voted for Mr. Bush, such as, Texas, Florida, Virginia, North and South Carolina, North and South Dakota, Nevada, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, and so on.
