Opposition options
Although I am not a supporter of the indiscriminate hartal culture, I believe it is the only political option that the opposition can resort to when all other means of discussion with the government are shut down.
If the government had taken the necessary steps to start the dialogue with the opposition on the electoral reform, there would have been no logic behind hartals. However, this is not the case, as the government is adamant to keep Jamaat members in its dialogue delegation.
