Pele and Maradona
There are some people who compare the King of Football Pele with Maradona; it is ridiculous. It usually happens during the World Cup. Pele started his career in 1958 when he was only 17 years old and amazed the world with his brilliant performance. Pele finished his voyage of World Cup in 1970 with Brazil winning the top honours and he also scored 12 goals. On the other hand, Maradona started his World Cup campaign in 1982 and as a 'rough' player he conceded a red card and was ruled out from the tournament. During Pele's times it was very difficult to go through the players as the referee did not take stern decisions against rough tacklers.
Many soccer experts criticised the Argentinean Football Association for not declaring Alfredo de Stefano as the all time greatest footballer of Argentina who made Real Madrid European champions five times in a row. Only Stefano could be compared with Pele, not Maradona.
