A plea

The Iraq war has become a burning topic for the present world. Much is written and spoken about the unending agonies of the Iraqis, but we soon forget their plight, as if our duties are bound to the extent of words only. Later, we proudly buy US products without any qualm. But do we ever consider that purchasing those US brands is boosting their funds to buy more weapons to use in Iraq? How come US brand lipsticks flavours do not taste to us of human blood? Does their black-hued eyeliner never remind you of burnt houses and shops in Iraq? Doesn't the fragrance of American perfume ever call to mind the stench of rotten flesh of dead men who are brutally killed and lying on a street corner.

It is apparent that we are indirectly aiding the gruesome acts of Americans who have reduced a beautiful country into ashes through their power. Can't we be a little selfless and respond pragmatically to the Iraq crisis and for the sake of solidarity with all those suffering in Iraq stop using US products? Is such a little sacrifice unfair in exchange for throwing a helping-hand to the unending miseries of the people of Iraq? Does giving up US products weigh more in comparison to humanity?
