I was thrilled reading an old news item in your newspaper (July 17, 2004) about Frenchman Mr. Yves Marre's magnificent idea of building a "Country Boat Museum" exhibiting "full-size examples of the boats that once graced the nation's rivers". I am confident that Mr. Marre's dream will come true one day very soon and Bangladesh will be richer and happier by revealing to the world its cultural heritage of this particular object, thanks to Mr. Marre, one of the real friends of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is a poor country, I do not mean only in terms of wealth, but in imagination. Did any one of us ever think about it? No, but this Frenchman, from a far away country, came to Bangladesh by chance and told us about it and is now struggling to build this amazing museum. Can we assist him? Surely, we can. We can invite all Bangladeshi, especially the expatriates, to Join Mr. Marre and contribute generously to make his dream come true. You can contact Mr. Marre and, open an account where we all can contribute as per capability of each one of us. I also suggest that this museum be built at Suhrawardy Uddyan.
