Political Consensus

We have a background of fighting against foreign rulers. We fought for our freedom against such rulers, especially the British and the Pakistanis for their oppression and exploitation. We asserted ourselves strongly during the Language Movement in 1952, Six-point Movement in 1966, Mass Upsurge in 1969 and so on.

We have faced tribulations such as poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, and violation of human rights as a third world country. Sometimes we have succeeded but most of the time we failed to reach our destination (development) due to lack of political consensus.

After the country was liberated, quite a few education policies were framed, but none of the policies were implemented. A government takes over, only to declare the policies of its predecessors null and void. We have been watching this since the birth of the country. Every government tries to write history according to its own political needs. As a result, the new generation of youths know little about the glorious history of the country.
